The Society has been involved since its inception in the production of recordings by primarily the Strauss family, going right back to the 1960s with early LPs which were produced on a small scale. Since the advent of CDs the productions have been to international standards and most of the recordings have been made in cooperation with the larger recording companies, such as Chandos, and Naxos. Some of these have won international awards. More recently productions of rarity music by the contemporaries of the Strauss family have been produced as joint ventures with the Czech and Romanian Johann Strauss Societies.

The society at present is only marketing directly from our website these latter CDs, namely Waves of the Danube, and Spirit of Vienna Volumes 1 and 2.

The other CDs have been stocked for member's purchase, and some are now difficult to find, even online. However we are happy to reply to any enquiries if you use the feedback form and we can quote you a price for new or second hand if we have them in stock payment can be made either through PayPal, or by Stirling cheque.

There are a large number of available CDs of Viennese music recorded by Naxos and Marco Polo over many years, including the complete works of Johann Strauss father and son, Josef Strauss, and an excellent selection of works by Waldteufel, Suppè, Ziehrer, Komzak, Lumbye, Oscar Straus, Josef Hellmesberger and some compilations too. In addition a number of Strauss operettas have been recorded with the involvement of our sister societies in Sweden and the Czech Republic. The Society has been involved in one way or another in many of these productions. Most of the more recent CDs are obtainable through the Naxos website, and all tracks can also be downloaded from their website. It is also possible to pick up copies through Amazon and other websites, and the Society has a small stock of most of these CDs, which are usually for the purchase of members only.
